Kicking off the night is Ben McKay, the 23-year-old comedic sensation from Toronto. With appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Just for Laughs Toronto, and the Toronto Comedy Festival under his belt, Ben is one of the brightest rising stars in the Canadian comedy scene. Comic Scott Dumas (aka Doom to his friends) won Alberta’s Search for Funniest New Comic in his first year of comedy, but was disqualified for going over his allotted time, by 26 seconds. “They wouldn’t stop laughing”, he says in defense.
Scotts performed on numerous showcases for prestigious comedy festivals over his 20-year career. In his career Doom has performed with such accomplished comedians as Harland Williams, Tommy Chong, Emo Phillips, Mike MacDonald, Judah Friedlander, Ari Shaffir, and Gilbert Godfried.
