The Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation (“CMAF”) believes experiencing the arts is a right regardless of financial means or accessibility circumstances.
artsPlace recognizes that there are barriers that people face which create challenges and affect their ability to participate.
As the cultural heART of our community, artsPlace is committed to ensuring all Bow Valley residents have access to the benefits of the arts and creativity. To that end, one of artsPlace’s strategic priorities is to “expand our programming to make the arts and arts activities more accessible to all residents of the Bow Valley”.
The Discover Art Fund exists in order to increase inclusivity and accessibility by removing these barriers. Because the circumstances that affect accessibility are diverse, so are our approaches to removing them, and can include, but are not limited to, free programming, community outreach programs, varying levels of subsidies for low-income individuals and families, creating physical changes to our space, increasing accessibility of our communications, and offering accommodations to individuals with particular needs.
