Global Roots/Jazz
The name Los Variants is a mixture of Spanish and French words which represents the variety of musical genres and cultures that have influenced the direction of this band. Led by Toronto percussionist, Vince Maccarone, Los Variants is a collective of Juno winning and nominated musicians from around the world. The sound can be described as a musical trip around the world with songs and styles spanning several continents and genres from AfroFunk to reggae to Flamenco. Based in jazz the group explores the texture and musical variety of global music.
