We’re excited to share that artsPlace has signed on to the 2025 Bow Valley Workplace Inclusion Charter. By joining other local organizations and businesses once again, we are reaffirming our commitment to building a more inclusive and welcoming Bow Valley—one where all individuals can thrive.

This action reflects our continued commitment to supporting every member of our diverse team and community—and to helping build a Bow Valley that is truly welcoming to all.

As part of this commitment, we will be undergoing additional training and taking a closer look at our internal practices and processes to ensure we are fostering a truly inclusive environment for both our team and the broader community.

Over the next six months, we’ll focus our efforts on four key areas:

  • Enhancing inclusive communication
  • Deepening our understanding of inclusivity
  • Embedding inclusive practices into our policies and operations
  • Strengthening our community connections

As we take these next steps, we’ll also reflect on our previous commitments and invite your input. Your feedback is vital as we move into more advanced stages of our inclusion work and implement meaningful changes that will make artsPlace an even more inclusive space.

Declaration of Commitment To Workplace Inclusion

We celebrate diversity.

Every person deserves to work in a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment. We are dedicated to advancing equity and inclusion in our workplaces, and all departments share this commitment. We are working together to help all team members feel a sense of belonging, both at work and in the community.

We endorse the 2025 Bow Valley Workplace Inclusion Charter, and commit to completing at least five actions by December 1st, 2025.

We strive for an inclusive Bow Valley for all.

Our Shared Vision:

• Bow Valley employers are leaders in creating a welcoming and inclusive community.

• All Bow Valley residents feel respected, valued, and supported to thrive in the workplace and the community.

• Local employers celebrate diversity, encourage intercultural understanding, uphold worker rights, and support employee development.

We uphold principles of inclusion.

• Everybody deserves a safe and respectful work environment.

• Diversity strengthens our workplaces and communities.

• Employers play an important role in advancing inclusion for all Bow Valley residents.
