Hailing from Maliotenam in Quebec, he seamlessly blends his Innu roots with modern sounds, creating music that’s vibrant and refreshing. Whether he's singing in Innu, French, or English, he's the kind of artist who will make you dance, think, and feel all at once.

• Opening Act – Stoney Nakoda country rock band Stoney River

Stoney River was created by the Smalleyes Family of Stoney Nakoda. Join Harrum, Shyles and Hardy for their own unique country rock stylings and a two-step in the parking lot!

• Tweener – Beau Valley Circus fire spinners

The Bow Valley’s very own circus troupe, Beau Valley Circus is a local collective of performing artists dedicated to bringing joy, wonder, and creativity to the stage and street.

• Opening remarks by MLA Sarah Elmeligi & blessing by Stoney Nakoda Elder

SHAUIT is a francophone Indigenous singer-songwriter who blends traditional First Nations music, primarily in the Innu-aimun language, with pop-rock and reggae. Originally from Maliotenam, Quebec, he is the son of an Acadian father and an Innu mother. Raised francophone, he had virtually no knowledge of the Innu language until learning it as a teenager in a bid to reconnect with his Indigenous heritage.

SHAUIT sings songs strongly inspired by his Innu roots and traditional music, infusing folk, country, rock and reggae into honest, committed songs filled with emotion and raw personal experience. Nominated twice as Indigenous artist of the year for the prestigious ADISQ awards gala, hesings about the plurality of the cultural mosaic of the First Nations. Most of the time in Innu, but sometimes in French, Shauit brings a music that is as festive and unifying, as it is introspective and hypnotizing.

A recipient of several major awards, including Best Indigenous Album at the Indigenous Music Awards in 2018 and best singer-songwriter at the Folk Music Awards, SHAUIT's influence continues to grow, extending into feature films and television series. Over the last few years, he has played throughout Canada, in the United States and Europe, where he has a loyal audience with his innovative style mixed with the culture of his roots.
