The fairy tale Cinderella has appeared as a legend or folk tale in various forms and in various cultures with themes that have withstood the test of time. Stage Director Rob Herriot has adapted a version of Cinderella from two operas; Gioacchino Rossini’s La Cenerentola and Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon.
Cinderella is a 45-minute, live production intended for elementary-aged audiences and performed in English by Calgary Opera’s McPhee Artists. Proceeding the fully-staged production of Cinderella is a Q&A with the performers.
“Our students loved the performance. They were engaged and ‘part of the show’ from beginning to end. The young vocalists were incredible - so professional, poised, and excited to share their love of opera!” — Killarney School, Calgary
