artsPlace favourites, The Redline Trio – Mark deJong, Sax; Jeff Sulima, drums; and Steve Shepard, Bass – return with special guest, acclaimed New York pianist Steve Hudson, for the release of their hotly anticipated debut CD. Recorded at the Banff Centre, the album features 7 original tunes mixed and mastered by Canadian jazz phenom Brad Turner.

Emotion, exploration, and interaction are at the heart of this exciting Calgary trio, whose playing infuses modern perspective into the attitude of a bygone era.

Since 2016 Redline Trio has been featured weekly at Betty Lou’s Library, a speakeasy in downtown Calgary. They have presented concerts at the National Music Centre’s King Eddy, cSPACE, artsPlace, and have featured guest artists including Brandi Disterheft, Brad Turner, Joel Gray, David Braid, Steve Hudson, poet Shari-D Wilson, Quincy Troupe, and vocalists Allison Lynch and Kate Melvina.
