George Webber, an Alberta-based photographer, speaks about his latest book of photography, Alberta Book. The photographs in this collection focus on the vernacular architecture, abandoned townscapes and fading commercial signage from 1950s and 1960s rural Alberta, and they have been selected from an archive of work spanning nearly 40 years.

George Webber is the recipient of numerous National Magazine Awards (Canada) including a Gold Award in 2018, multiple Awards of Excellence from The Society for News Design (USA) and The International Documentary Photography Award (Korea).

His books include: Badlands, Prairie Gothic, In this Place, Last Call, People of The Blood, A World Withinand Requiem.

Webber’s photographs have been featured in numerous publications including: American Photo, Apple, Canadian Geographic, Canadian Living, GEIST, Lenswork Quarterly, Photolife, The New York Times, Reader’s Digest and Swerve.
