Prize Terms and Conditions

Round-trip Flights for Two to Whitehorse ~ $1120 value

  • flight service provided by Air North
  • departing from Edmonton or Calgary
  • valid for travel from January 12, 2021 – December 14, 2022
  • flights must be booked together and are subject to availability
  • the recipient will be required to pay the Airport Improvement Fee, Security Fee, Fuel Surcharge and taxes applicable to the route selected at the time of booking
  • Reservations must be made seven (7) days prior to booking
  • Blackout periods:
    • in 2021: March 11–29; April 1–5; May 20-24; June 17-21; June 30-July 5; September 2-6; October 7-11; November 11-5; Dec 16-31

  • Travel Certificates may only be used for the routing listed above, and may not be applied towards any other routes products, services or charters.

  • Travel Certificate may not be sold
  • Overnight stays may be required at the expense of the recipient
  • Travel Certificates donated to organizations for the purposes of fundraising or enhancement of special events cannot be won by Air North employees, representatives, dealers, agents, or organizers of the event to which that the Travel Certificate is donated to. All immediate family members (parents and children) of Air North employees or any of the above-noted groups are also excluded from winning this travel certificate.

Official Contest Rules and Regulations

artsPlace 2020 Raffle

  • Total ticket value is $20,000.00 (twenty thousand dollars). 200 tickets will be available at $100.00 CAD each.
  • Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to purchase tickets. Pursuant to the Public Trustee Act, ticket buyers must not write the name of a person under the age of 18 on a ticket. Ticket buyers should not enter the name of a person under the age of 18 when completing the online order to purchase tickets. Ticket sellers must advise adult ticket buyers not to write the name of a person under the age of 18 on a ticket.
  • All tickets must be purchased and sold in Alberta.
  • Purchases placed via websites are considered "orders to purchase tickets" and DO NOT count as an official ticket. Official tickets will be mailed to purchasers following online orders.
  • Orders to purchase tickets via websites must confirm the address of the potential ticket purchaser within Alberta.
  • Official tickets will be mailed by Canada Post following online orders, or be purchased on site at artsPlace and contain:
    • name and address of the licensed charitable organization;
    • raffle licence number;
    • ticket number;
    • total number of tickets printed;
    • date and exact location of draw(s);
    • description and value of prize(s);
    • prize restrictions (if applicable);
    • cash alternatives (if applicable); and
    • notice that the ticket purchaser must be at least 18 years of age
  • Tickets can be sold for cash, cheque or money order made payable to artsPlace, or credit card. While non-certified cheques and credit card payments will be accepted, until the proceeds from these ticket sales are actually received, tickets stubs will not be included in any draws.
  • Refunds will only be issued in the event the draw date has been changed by artsPlace and the ticket purchaser requests the refund before the new draw date.
  • No tax receipt will be issued for any portion of the price of a ticket.
  • As artsPlace also conducts other types of charitable gaming (i.e. a casino), raffle proceeds (total revenue less raffle prize costs and raffle expenses) will be deposited in a gaming bank account and spent on AGLC approved use of proceeds.
  • artsPlace, Air North and Mount Logan Lodge employees and board members, and the spouses and children of artsPlace, Air North and Mount Logan Lodge employees and board members, are not eligible to purchase tickets.
  • A minimum of 63 tickets must be sold by October 5, 2020, before ArtsPlace may apply for an extension of the draw date or cancellation of the raffle. These decisions are subject to the approval of Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC).
  • All draws will be made in accordance with AGLC guidelines, and will take place in Canmore, Alberta, at artsPlace, 950 8 ave, Canmore, AB, T1W 2T1, on Saturday, October 17, 2020, starting at 7:30 pm.
  • artsPlace must be able to account for all tickets. Prior to the draw, artsPlace shall reconcile the number of sold tickets and unsold tickets, as indicated in the raffle ticket sales record, with the number of ticket stubs in the draw container, to ensure that all eligible tickets form part of the draw.
  • The draw must be open to the public, in order to comply with this standard, the raffle draw will be live-streamed via artsPlace's YouTube Channel. At least one artsPlace Executive Board Member and one member of the public who is not a member of artsPlace must be present to witness the draw.
  • artsPlace shall video-record the ticket draw and retain the recording with the raffle records for two years after the draw date.
  • Tickets shall be drawn from a container that is transparent or constructed with mesh so that tickets can be seen from the outside.
  • Tickets must be manually drawn from the container in a random manner. Winning ticket cannot be randomly drawn by a computer or other random number-generating device.
  • A ticket stub containing the ticket number of each sold ticket must be placed in the draw container.
  • Prior to the ticket draw, the ticket container must be rotated or the contents of the container agitated a minimum of three times. Anti-static spray may be used to facilitate the rotation of tickets.
  • The draw can be made by any person who does not own a ticket or a share of a ticket in the draw container.
  • The arm of the person making the draw must be bare of clothing below the elbow and they must exhibit their draw arm and both sides of their open hand to the draw witnesses, immediately prior to making the draw.
  • Only the person making the draw may put their arm/hand in the draw container.
  • When selecting winning ticket, the person making the draw shall look away from the container in the direction of the witnesses.
  • A record of each ticket drawn shall be made indicating the ticket serial number, the name, address, and phone number of the prize-winner and the time and date the ticket was drawn.
  • Winning tickets shall be immediately exhibited to witnesses and held open for inspection until the end of the draw or until returned to the draw container to be eligible for additional prizes.
  • artsPlace shall retain all tickets with the raffle records for two years after the last draw date.
  • If a draw occurs and artsPlace later determines not all eligible ticket stubs were placed into the draw container, AGLC is to be notified immediately. The raffle manager will submit a Discrepancy Report to the AGLC within three days of discovering not all eligible tickets were placed into the draw container. The Discrepancy Report shall specify the total number and serial numbers of the affected tickets and an explanation for how the problem occurred. artsPlace will have to conduct a second draw with all eligible ticket stubs and award another set of prizes equivalent to the original list of approved prizes.
  • Winners need not be in attendance at the draw to qualify. Every effort will be made to notify all winners, including notification by telephone, email, and registered mail if necessary.
  • Winners have twelve (12) months from the date of the draw to claim their prize. In the event that a winner(s) cannot be located after twelve (12) months, the prize or moneys equivalent to the fair market value of the prize will, with AGLC approval, be donated back to ArtsPlace.
  • artsPlace has the right to publish the names and/or photographs of the prize winners.
  • In the event a winning ticket stub has more than one name on it, artsPlace shall award the prize to only one of the individuals identified on the ticket, and artsPlace and the AGLC are not responsible for any disputes which may arise between the different individuals whose names appear on the ticket stub.
  • Prizes will be awarded as follows (full descriptions above):
    • Draw: Vacation Package for Two to the Yukon. Includes two round-trip tickets from YYC or YEG to Whitehorse Airport through Air North, and a 3-night stay at Mount Logan Lodge with breakfast dinner and transportation to and from the airport, a $849 Mount Logan Lodge credit and a $400 cash prize.   • Merchandise prizes cannot be redeemed for cash and must be accepted as presented.
  • Prize delivery costs will be the responsibility of artsPlace.
