Focus on Moroccan Culture

From oceans to deserts, from tajines to roast lamb, Morocco is a country of diverse landscapes and delicious flavours. Bow Valley Community Member Said Haddady will take us on a mini tour of this beautiful country through his own personal stories. He’ll tell us about his childhood experiences growing up in Casablanca in Morocco, and the culture of care that existed in his home neighbourhood. Said is an avid outdoorsman, and he’ll recount his adventures in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains. Together with Said, in this Cultural Learning Circle, we can compare and contrast the mountain culture of Morocco with that of our Bow Valley home.

On the first Wednesday of every month artsPlace hosts a Cultural Learning Circle. These are led by a diversity of facilitators, from Stoney Nakoda knowledge-keepers to local community members, to experts in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion education. Admission is FREE!

This online event will be delivered in a Zoom Meeting. A meeting link and password will be emailed to you in advance of the start of the session. Please download the Zoom Application from
