Focus on Moroccan Culture

From oceans to deserts, from tajines to roast lamb, Morocco is a country of diverse landscapes and delicious flavors! Bow Valley community members, Said and Basma, will take us on a mini tour of this beautiful country through their own personal stories.

They will share their childhood experiences growing up in Casablanca and Marrakesh, and the culture of care that existed in their home neighborhoods. As an avid outdoorsman, Said will recount his adventures in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains.

Together, we can compare the mountain culture of Morocco with that of our Bow Valley home.

On the first Wednesday of every month artsPlace hosts a Cultural Learning Circle. These are led by a diversity of facilitators, from Stoney Nakoda knowledge-keepers to local community members, to experts in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion education. Admission is FREE!

This online event will be delivered in a Zoom Meeting. A meeting link and password will be emailed to you in advance of the start of the session. Please download the Zoom Application from
