Based on what we have learned from the new AHS restrictions (as of April 7), and based on our most recent correspondence with AHS, artsPlace in-person programs for children and youth are permitted and will go ahead.

We have adapted our studios and participant numbers to accommodate 3-meter physical distancing in all programs. Staff and participants are required to wear masks at all times and no objects are shared between participants. All tools and touched surfaces (including tables and chairs) in the studios are wiped between the cohorts of participants. Shared spaces, such as the washrooms, are also cleaned multiple times a day, including between cohorts of participants. Staff and participants are screened daily to ensure that no one has experienced new COVID-19 related symptoms or had any new contact with a presumed or confirmed case of COVID-19.
We are absolutely doing our best to mitigate risk of COVID-19 transference and to promote the emotional and physical wellness of your young artists.

As we connected with so many of you through our surveys, social media, and online classes and workshops these past few months, we understand how important arts and culture programming is to you. We are hopeful that our collective efforts to keep bending the curve now will ensure that we can return to more in-person programs later in the spring. In the meantime, we are committed to innovating our programming offer and to bringing the arts and culture to your homes in any way we can.

We will continue to provide meaningful arts experiences this month and beyond, through virtual 3D gallery exhibitionsonline cultural learning circlesvirtual movie screenings with live discussion panelsonline classes in a variety of mediums, live stream performances, creative kits for spring breakfree family-oriented video series, community partnerships, authentic storytelling, and initiatives aimed at lifting our community’s spirits.

As always, the wellbeing of our community is at the forefront of everything we do.
