MEDIEVAL MAGIC

Add your own enchanting twist to ancient methods of art making this week! We will dye fabrics using a wax-resist method, bind our own books and make a stained glass suncatcher. Work with colorful slips to create a mosaic inspired work of art in the ceramics studio!

PLANT POWER

Dye your own fabric using the sun and leaves with a process called cyanotyping! We will learn about famous artists who loved painting in nature, such as the Group of Seven, and paint landscapes inspired by their bright bold style. Create a flower press and use organic shapes to imprint into your ceramic creations.

SUMMER SCULPTORS

Have fun getting messy with plaster while we sculpt innovative forms inspired by famous sculptors. We will get creative with papier-mâché and other recycled materials to create wearable works of art and continue the 3D fun in the ceramics studio.

PET PALOOZA

Delight in drawing your favorite animals while learning about drawing techniques such as shading and texturing! We will create stop motion animation videos featuring your imaginary pet and make animal masks in the ceramics studio.

COLOR CALAMITY

Learn about color theory by making your own 3D color wheel and practice mixing your own paints with pigments and dyes. Make a colorful tye dye shirt and experiment with different printmaking techniques. Have fun in the clay studio playing with different coloured slips to decorate your creation!

SAILORS AND MERMAIDS

Learn about different techniques in watercolor painting to create your under the sea illustration and practice storytelling to make your ocean tale come alive! Sculpt a figure head or mascot for your pirate ship and use sea shells to create impressions in clay plates.

FIRE AND ICE

Explore the elements with us as we try out different ways to use fire and ice in art! Create charcoal drawings and use pyrography to burn a drawing into wood. Build colourful ice sculptures and get creative photographing them before trying out your ideas in the ceramics studio.
