Two of Canada’s greatest roots singer-songwriters have finally done what everybody’s wanted — heck, what they’ve wanted — for years. Dave Gunning and J.P. Cormier are releasing their first album together, called Two.

Longtime battle-brothers Dave Gunning and JP Cormier return to the studio and produce their second album together in their inimitable style. Original songs and rare covers filled with lush guitars and tight harmonies. This is an album not to be missed.

The album is called Two because that’s what it is, just the two of them. Two is made up of everything the duo excels at. There are new collaborations between the two writers (Brothers, Home To Mary), new arrangements of antique folk numbers (Johnny Armstrong, Katie o’ the Gowrie), and some tasty, surprising covers (Never Picked Cotton, Stompin’ Tom’s Songbird Valley).

Two Songwriters meet in Harmony

The Evangelines

Lori Reid’s soulful vocals and rootsy guitar playing bring strong earth energy, while Heather Jean Jordan’s graceful soprano voice and delicate ukulele picking add an airy celtic element to this exciting new duo - a fusion of folk, country, celtic and roots that spans the decades with its material!

Beginning as a friendship forged over fries and folk music at the Banff Royal Canadian Legion, the two songwriters came together to tease out some harmonies in early 2022. They discovered a shared musical curiosity, love of harmony, and sense of play that continues to reveal itself.
