Sam Welsh (she/her) is a mixed-media artist currently living in Treaty 7 Territory.
She keeps a semi-regular art therapy practice and enjoys painting, drawing, printmaking, calligraphy, and fibre arts. You might recognize Sam as an arts administrator and artist educator at artsPlace and around town. Sam loves teaching arts and crafts to all ages, from 2 to 102! She even zoomed into over 200 living rooms and classrooms during the pandemic teaching arts education for various organizations online. Sam is currently on parental leave with her son, and is slowly getting back into her creative practice. Her current interests are finding pigments locally and making her own paint (there are so many great shades and values we can find from things like rocks, grasses, silt, & soil!) As an abstract artist, Sam loves playing with shapes, textures, colours, and scale.
