May is sexual assault awareness month. Through this pop-up exhibition, the Harmony Project hopes to inspire self-reflection and community conversations around the concept of consent.
One of the Harmony Project’s main initiatives is the “Got Consent?” campaign. The main goal of this community campaign is to raise awareness around sexual harassment and assault in our community and creating a culture of everyday consent in the Bow Valley.
This mini exhibition includes two works of art by local Bow Valley artists.
Consent by Lesley Russell of Russell & Russell Design Studio, is an interactive art installation that puts obtaining and respecting consent in your hands. is an interactive art installation that will encourage people to articulate and commit to ways in which they can contribute to a future without sexual violence and embrace a culture of consent.
Working Together by Elise Findlay, is a community created work of art. Through a series of workshops at artsPlace, Elise will engage community to think about what consent means in their daily lives and then to create small works of art that build up and contribute to a larger image of the Bow Valley Landscape.
