Join artist Wanda Ellerbeck for this fun mixed media and life drawing workshop! Using basic life drawing skills, we will explore how to use colour and different mediums of your choice to bring an expressive quality to our live model drawing work.

Guidance for drawing the model will be provided - we will learn to focus on the different elements of drawing line, shape, volume and value to enhance the work with creative nuance. This course will cover basic themes and colour relationship to these themes.

Students may bring basic drawing tools (see the list below) and their choice of mediums and colours. All are acceptable except oil paint mediums. Students may bring whatever substrate they choose to work on i.e. different papers etc. Prerequisite for this course is: Life Drawing experience and skill.

Compressed charcoal sticks or conte crayon
Willow Charcoal
1 kneaded eraser
1 white plastic eraser

Meet the Facilitator

Wanda Ellerbeck

Born and raised in Alberta, Wanda’s artistic practice has spanned a lifetime and has covered the disciplines of painting, drawing and sculpture.

As well as a Canadian wide exhibition record, Wanda has taught extensively in post secondary institutions in Halifax, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Her awards include the prestigious Canada Council for the Arts “B” grant and numerous project grants from The Alberta Foundation for the Arts. She graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with her Masters Degree in Fine Arts.
