Want to learn something new and exciting? Batik is the process of using wax-resist and dye on fabric to create an image.

You will walk away with your own beautiful design, an appreciation of the batik process and an overview of what contemporary artists are creating using this method. No previous experience necessary, just a joy for learning and creating! Beginners welcome!

Batik is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to the whole cloth to create beautiful & intricate designs. The applied wax resists dyes and therefore allows the artisan to colour selectively by soaking the cloth in one colour, removing the wax with boiling water, and repeating if multiple colours are desired.
