Mountain Cabin Quilters Guild
An active guild of 100 members involved in both traditional and art quilting. Meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from Sept to June at 7:30 pm, in the Lady MacDonald Room in the Old Recreation Centre in Canmore 1900 - 8th Ave. Annual quilt shows, courses, retreats, charitable work, raffle quilt, social events, etc. We are excited to welcome potential new members at any time.

KOFU
Maho creates fabric art using vintage kimonos and obis. The fabric, either framed or sewn into wall hangings or table runners, is usually silk; either dyed, woven or embroidered. Swatches often feature some element of nature: birds, flowers, animals or landscapes. Maho’s work is currently displayed at Chef’s Studio Japan in Canmore.

Shannon Amey
Shannon Amey is a Contemporary Canadian Visual Artist and Educator. Shannon currently works and maintains a studio practice in the Rocky Mountains in Canmore, Alberta. Shannon's work is motivated by a desire to cultivate visual representations of the relationships and connections people have with the earth and each other in both present and past time settings. The artist's work is very much a mixed media practice as she includes textile, paint, print making and sewing elements in her work. Shannon trained professionally at the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Integrated Studies in Interdisciplinary Leadership and a post graduate Bachelor of Education in Visual Art Education, at the Univeristy of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Shannon is currently enrolled in graduate school at the University of Calgary where with a research focus on Creativity.
