An Immersive Experience You Won't Forget
12 ARTISTS + 20 MINUTES + A DRIVE TO CREATE!
The annual evening of fun and frivolity returns! Immerse yourself in the Bow Valley's creative energy and be part of the action at this year's most unique event yet.
Get up close to the action, this year with virtual and in-person options, as local artists come together to paint a work of art in only 20 minutes! Watch these artists as they create live from multiple locations, cheer them on and vote for your favourite pieces. Our emcees bring you close to this artistic showdown, whether you're participating from home or as part of a small audience.
Experience an insider's view into the creative process behind the artwork and support our local arts community. All paintings created during the event will be up for sale in our online auction, with proceeds supporting artsPlace programming.
Talented artists, a friendly competition, music, banter, and an extraordinary silent auction – this is one event you will never forget!
Choose how you want to participate and get up close to the action.

All of the paintings created during the event will also be auctioned off online. The bidding for these paintings will start during the event and go until 8 pm on Monday Nov 16.
We would like to thank the generous donors of these items for their support and commitment to making arts and creativity in the Bow Valley accessible to all.
Today we need the arts and creativity more than ever. You donations will allow us to innovate and deliver programming that will support our community's well-being.
MEET THE ARTISTS
What to expect at Creative Combat this year
Creative Combat will be a bit different this year, and we wanted to let you know what to expect. One of the major changes is that we will only have 2 competition rounds, with the runner-up and winner being announced at the end. However, everyone will still get a chance to vote, whether you are at home or in person. The only difference this year is that you vote via a link from your phone, rather than a chip in a bowl!
If you are attending in person, we are doing our utmost to ensure social distancing and to consider the safety of our patrons.
- There is a limited number of tickets for the event at artsPlace.
- Once artsPlace tickets sell out, we will open tickets for additional downtown Canmore venues (e.g. the Hive Gallery), all within easy walking distance from artsPlace.
- At all of our venues, there will be no more than 15 guests in each viewing area.
- Each location will have a different live artist painting for round 1 and 2. You will also be able to see all the Combat artists painting live on a large screen in front of you.
- We're looking forward to supplying each location with all the other amenities - drinks, food, music and lots of fun!
- We ask that guests not participate if they feel ill, remain in cohorts or 2 meters apart & wash hands frequently.
Alberta Health Services guidelines, as well as artsPlace Health and Safety Protocols, will be followed at all locations.

We encourage you to keep all House & Business Parties small (max 15 people) in order to ensure that social distancing and health & safety protocols are followed.
WHY AN ARTSPLACE FUNDRAISER?
artsPlace is a registered charity, operating independently from the Town of Canmore. We offer a wide range of free and subsidized programming – classes, workshops, family activities, community events, festivals, exhibitions, films, and performances – and our fees cover a mere 40% of the cost of our programs. To continue to offer quality programming at an affordable cost, we rely on the generosity of our community to support our work.
