CAG Gallery at Elevation Place
4th Annual Canmore Abstract Exhibition For the fourth time, CAG is presenting a splash of Abstract Art in the gallery! Promoting the visibility of quality Abstract Art has been the leitmotiv of this exhibition since its inception. This year Canmore Abstract will show the works of two invited guests Jan Kabatoff and Dave Foxcroft and thirteen CAG artists, who use different mediums like painting, drawing, collage and sculpture. To be part of the exhibition, each artist had to submit two to three artworks to a jury that selected the strongest and most cohesive artworks. What is Abstract Art? There are many definitions out there but the organizers of the exhibition believe in the following definition as being very accurate: According to the Tate Museum (London), Abstract Art is art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect.
