Wood burning, also called pyrography, is the process of drawing a picture on a piece of wood with a hot metal tip. Enjoy this guided process to familiarise yourself with the tools and practice creating different textures, then follow along step-by-step to create your own mountain scenes on a set of two coasters. No experience necessary!

Bryony Toon

Bryony specializes in wood pyrography which is the art of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point. She incorporates gouache paint into her designs in order to capture the beauty of her surroundings. Bryony strives for her artwork to take you on a beautiful journey through the ever-changing time periods of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
