Create a beautiful multi-purpose bowl following a simple step-by-step technique to coil together clay.

Coil building is a long-held ceramic tradition. Use your imagination and intuition to coil together your own creation! Our artsPlace team will glaze your piece for you and it will be available for pick up approximately three weeks later. Beginners welcome!

All fired and glazed ceramic work must be picked up within two weeks of the completion notice, or it will be donated to artsPlace.

Meet the Instructor

Ciara Linteau

Ciara graduated with a BFA from the Alberta College of Art and Design, now Alberta University of the Arts. She taught community ceramic classes while participating in a Visual Arts Self Directed Residency at the Banff Centre from 2008–2016. She has worked fulltime at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies in various capacities since 2009. After taking a four-year break from teaching ceramics, Ciara is happy to be teaching at artsPlace since 2020.
