Brittney Norton
Contemporary Surrealist Painter: I am driven by a need to create and endlessly fascinated by the complexities of the 'human condition'. Female characters in a dream-like state - often discovered amiss a moment of great realization - comprise the majority of my work. Photographer: This quote has stuck with me and articulates my feelings perfectly: "A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you, the less you know".-unknown

Deborah Sears
I work in series and sets of mathematical multiples to best explore topics arising in my questioning mind and critical practice. My paintings and prints address the socio-political issues of age and gender through a style that combines my childhood interest in patchwork quilt designs with geometric and contemporary abstract art; and a style that combines my youthful enthusiasms with my mature deliberations in large, expressive blocks of color and sweeping lines.

The artist draws upon her experiences and interviews where she explores human connections to places and people through time. The artist focuses on the origin and creation of narratives derived from memories. Shannon spends as much time as possible outdoors playing with her senior dog Fundy boy and often finds herself lost on misadventures traveling abroad. Shannon’s “home” is in the Canadian Rockies of Canmore, Alberta where you will find her playing in the snow for most of the year and then dipping her toes in the Pacific Ocean during the summer months spent with family on Vancouver Island.
