Tineke is a relationship builder, creative thinker, and firm believer that everyone deserves to feel they belong. Born in South Africa and now calling the Bow Valley home, she’s led community and cultural initiatives across five countries — from world heritage sites and national theatres to grassroots inclusion partnerships.
For Tineke, the arts are more than a profession — they’re how we make meaning, tell stories, and build bridges across difference. She’s passionate about creating spaces where everyone feels welcome to express themselves and be part of shaping something bigger than any one voice.
As she joins the artsPlace team, Tineke brings her experience in inclusive, consensus-based engagement to support a community-driven vision for the future. Whether facilitating partnerships or designing consultations, she brings a joyful seriousness to the work of co-creation and shared cultural belonging.
When she’s not collaborating on community initiatives, you’ll likely find her volunteering, exploring the Rockies by motorcycle, or working on creative projects that reflect her belief in art as a force for connection and change.
