Originally from Ontario and after living in Japan, Switzerland, and New Zealand, Katie laid roots in the Bow Valley since 2020. She has a BFA from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and recently completed a Therapeutics Arts Practitioner course.
Katie’s deep love of art and connecting with others led her to artsPlace where she is acting as Associate Manager of Child, Youth and Gallery Programs. Years of working in daycares, camps and instructing skiing led her to oversee child and youth programs. Assisting those in their artistic career is a passion for Katie; her keen curatorial eye is useful in organizing gallery exhibitions.
As an artist Katie enjoys woodburning, metal work, painting and carving. She continues to explore and share the positive effects art has on mental health, and plans to integrate this in the community in the future.
