Bruce Byford, CPA, CA, ICD.D, served as Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Banff Centre from 2015 to 2020.
Prior to Banff Centre, Bruce spent five years as CFO of a TSX listed public company in Calgary and 11 years as a partner at Grant Thornton LLP in both Calgary and Toronto where he held numerous senior leadership positions.
Bruce is a strategic, collaborative and hands-on executive adept at leading finance and administrative teams at Board governed organizations, with a proven track record developing and implementing strategic plans, transforming and building high performing finance and administrative teams, developing/nurturing relationships with key internal and external partners/stakeholders, and delivering results.
Bruce has a long history of community involvement. Before moving to the Bow Valley, he served on the boards of Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Society in Calgary, Rotary Club of Calgary Heritage Park as Vice President, the Calgary Chapter of Financial Executives International and York Support Services Network (YSSN) in Ontario. While at Banff Centre he served on the Board of Trustees of Universities Academic Pension Plan (UAPP) for five years, as Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee in 2020. He currently serves on the Board of Banff Canmore Community Foundation as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance, Audit and Investment Committee.
