Moving from Montreal to Canmore in 2002 had a tremendous impact on the life and art of Pascale Ouellet aka Bigoudi.
Largely self-directed in her artistic education, and inspired by her cohort of artists living in the Bow Valley, Pascale has shaped a successful commercial career while still evolving as an artist. She has been diligent in pursuing opportunities to grow, completing many artist residencies, attending lectures by international artists, and teaching at artsPlace when time allows. Since 2004, she has held 25 solo exhibitions in Alberta galleries, participated in more than 40 juried group shows across Canada, and been awarded three Public Art Commissions by the Town of Canmore. She has also participated in four artistic residencies at The Banff Centre, and has been selected as a 2015 artist-in-residence at a program on Fogo Island in Newfoundland. Prior to moving to Alberta, she completed a two-year diploma (DEC) at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Fine Arts and Communications, a two-year diploma in Interior Design at Inter-Dec College and attended the Visual Arts Program at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her work can be found in 9 galleries across Canada.
