Born in Vancouver and raised in Fort McMurray, Adam Boeker started playing the piano at age 8. At age 13, he was accepted to Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, UK on a Yamaha scholarship, where he studied under British concert pianist, Murray McLachlan. During his time at “Chets”, Adam won second place in the European Piano Teachers Association UK competition, won Chetham’s Concerto Competition playing Prokofiev Piano Concerto no. 3. He was also a piano finalist in the BBC television's Young Musician Competition.
Since graduating, Adam attended Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock in Germany, where he studied under Matthias Kirschnereit, and later the Conservatorio di Musica in Salerno, Italy, under Guilio De Luca. Adam currently performs as a solo pianist and as an accompanist in venues across Europe, and has been accepted at the University of Hamburg to study piano performance with professor Hubert Rutkowski.
In 2012, Adam performed Weinberg's Piano Quintet in Canmore with the celebrated Zemlinsky Quartet from Prague, winners of the Bordeaux 2012 String Quartet Competition. Adam is excited to be performing once again in Canmore, which his parents now call home.
