“Absolutely brilliant!” - BBC Radio

3x JUNO nominees and SiriusXM winners Sultans of String are “an energetic and exciting band with talent to burn!” (Maverick Magazine UK). Thrilling audiences with their genre-hopping passport of Celtic reels, Flamenco, Gypsy-jazz, Arabic, Cuban, and South Asian rhythms, fiery violin dances with kinetic guitar, while bass and percussion lay down unstoppable grooves. Throughout, acoustic strings meet with electronic wizardry to create layers and depth of sound. With their new release, Subcontinental Drift, they serve up a feast of raucous reels, ragas ‘n’ rumbas with special guest/sitar master Anwar Khurshid (featured in the Oscar winning Life of Pi). Fusing the virtuosic talent of Anwar Khurshid adds to their truly global and mesmerizing sound!

Since forming 10 years ago, Sultans of String’s CDs have hit #1 across Canada on world music charts, #15 on Billboard (world), and received multiple awards and accolades, including 1st place in the ISC (out of 15,000 entries), 3 Canadian Folk Music Awards, a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal (for bandleader/violinist Chris McKhool), plus invitations to perform/record with such luminaries as The Chieftains and David Bromberg.

“You get the feeling this is Strunz & Farah or Willie & Lobo or Gypsy Kings taken to the next level of the game, sometimes all at once… a sure bet to notch a JUNO and any other award winning hardware to come its way.“ - Midwest Record, Chicago

“Chris McKhool and the boys are fantastic!" - Bob Ezrin (Producer--Pink Floyd. Kiss)

The Sultans of String acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, which last year invested $153 million to bring the arts to Canadians throughout the country.

The Sultans of String remercions le Conseil des arts du Canada de son soutien. L’an dernier, le Conseil a investi 153 millions de dollars pour mettre de l’art dans la vie des Canadiennes et des Canadiens de tout le pays
